Program notes:
I wrote Turnsole as a staged chamber opera in the fall of 2016. The narrative follows a girl whose obsession with the Sun leads her to plant herself in the earth to become a flower so that she can always follow his path through the sky. Turnsole Songs is a selection of five scenes from the opera performed as an instrumental suite.
